It all started in August 2002 when I, Petrina, took a trip to Bermuda to visit my friend Tamara (a bridesmaid). I met Ty while out to dinner one night when celebrating Tamara’s birthday. Through chance encounters and brief conversation, we discovered each other. Spending a day at the park, talking for several hours made us realize we had a lot in common (Although Ty scared me when he guessed my middle name on his first try!). I left Bermuda on August 20, 2002, not knowing I’d met my future husband.

On September 14, 2002, Ty called me to wish me a happy birthday and that was when our friendship began. We spoke four times a week for the next two years, never admitting to ourselves the feelings we had for one another. It was through these long talks that we built a deep connection and an even deeper friendship, and we knew we were best friends.
